The DPPC Releases its first “Spotlight on Policy” about Anti-Corruption

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

The U.S. - Afghanistan Democratic Peace and Prosperity Council (DPPC) has released its first Spotlight on Policy about Anti-Corruption. The Spotlight on Policy explains the DPPC’s focus areas in greater detail and highlights our recommendations and proposed solutions to policy makers. We purposefully choose Anti-Corruption as our first focus area to spotlight because it is one of the biggest challenges that Afghanistan faces. Corruption in Afghanistan impacts national and local government, the business community and individuals. It threatens peace, stability, democracy, economic development and the financial commitment of allies, especially the United States. The Parliament of Afghanistan has recently affirmed its commitment to leadership in anti-corruption efforts, and the DPPC encourages more action from the Parliament and from U.S. policymakers to combat corruption and promote normal business practices.
